Mark Godfrey is a journalist based in Beijing and traveling around China to report on local economic and social developments in this fascinating country. He covers industries in China for China Confidential, a Financial Times publication, while also serving as China correspondent for Business & Finance magazine (www.businessandfinance.ie). Away from work, he's a co-founder of Beijing Community Dinners, supporting local civil society, and rides bikes and horses around the outskirts of Beijing on the weekends. An academic specialism in Central Asia takes him out of west China and into Stan-land (Kazakstan , Kyrgzstan , Tajikistan , Uzbekistan) on a regular basis for PhD research.
